The Nativity Journey at Wintershall

Peter Hutley (OBE) and Ann Hutley transformed their stunning estate into the home of epic open-air performances about the life of Jesus. Their very first Nativity started in a barn in 1989. Now their professional productions, with casts of hundreds, are seen by tens of thousands. Their vision is to tell the story.

Our play is suitable for all ages, which makes it the perfect family Christmas event. Due to the realistic nature of some scenes, we recommend parental guidance for those under 5 years old.

It’s so much more than traditional theatre! There are parts that feel like traditional theatre, but it’s also an immersive, interactive experience where you’ll very much feel part of the production. That’s what makes it so special.

Some scenes are performed outside Holly Barn Theatre and the weather can be unpredictable so it is best to wear something warm. Your visit includes a 10 minute walk up a steep hill so we advise wearing shoes that can handle a bit of mud just in case!

Hot drinks and cake are available on the 14th, 15th and 16th of December near the car park. Programmes will not be on sale this year but we will have a Wintershall shop near the car park and merchandise can be bought from there or ordered over the phone before the play and posted to you, please call 01483 892167 for advance sales.
