This summer, we're welcoming young people aged 13 - 18 to the Palace Theatre and setting them a challenge: devise a new musical in 2 days!

For group bookings of 10 or more:

Working with our Creative Learning practitioners: Grace, Rebecca and Cameron, the group will to design and produce, workshop and perform a short, brand new original musical on a theme devised by the group. Expect a masterclass in improvisation, speedy song writing and drama based activities in a jam packed two days. Expending on skills learned on the course, young people will have until the time the clock strikes 16:00.

The course takes place across the two days, 10:00 – 16:00 at the Palace Theatre M1 6FT (young people should be available for the two days).

This session is suitable for beginners - intermediates, but no experience necessary!

The Palace Theatre of Varieties opened on Whit Monday 1891 and cost its owners the then colossal sum of £40,500. In the late 1970’s the Palace Theatre underwent a major refurbishment and re-opened in 1981 with Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Jesus Christ Superstar and has since then retained its position as the premier provincial touring venue.
