Sunny, funny and with more ‘tra la la las’ per square inch than any other opera in the canon, The Gondoliers is a joy from start to finish.

Sunny, funny and with more ‘tra la la las’ per square inch than any other opera in the canon, The Gondoliers is a joy from start to finish.
Two happy-go-lucky gondoliers discover that one of them is, in fact, heir to the throne of a distant kingdom. True to their (adopted) Republican roots, they set off together to rule in idealistic, if somewhat chaotic, style...
Doors open 45 minutes before the start time so there is lots of time to find your seat and get settled in for the performance. There are plenty of wheelchair spaces and extra staff on hand to help those who wish to transfer. Lighting levels in the auditorium are slightly brighter, and members of the audience are able to come in and out of the auditorium and make noise if they need to or watch the show in the bar on TV screens if they prefer. Quiet areas are available and the cafés at each theatre are open for teas, coffees and a selection of cakes.
Groups are welcome – call the box office to book.
Sung in English with English Supertitles
