Working alongside industry professionals, young people can take on performing or backstage roles, to gain real insight into life within a theatre company.
Following an initial six-week rehearsal period, the MKTYC will perform a piece exploring My World at the Taking the Stage festival at MK Gallery on 19th October.
In collaboration with The Play’s The Thing Theatre Company, the group will utilise a range of practical theatre skills (encompassing devising, voice, puppetry, physical theatre, music and storytelling) to create a devised piece, performed as part of the Festival.
Following this, they will then work with our MKTYC Director on a scripted piece, performed in March 2025.
Weekly sessions will take place at Milton Keynes Theatre, 6pm – 8pm on Wednesday evenings:
11th, 18th, 25th Sep
2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd Oct
6th, 13th, 20th, 27th Nov
With an additional rehearsal at MKT, 11am – 4pm on Sat 12 OCT and the Festival performance 11am – 3pm on Sat 19 OCT at MK Gallery.
Please note that young people must be available for these rehearsal and performance dates in addition to the weekly rehearsals.

£340 for the 7-month project (or 4 payments of £85 in Sep, Nov, Jan & Mar)
