For those in School Year 9 up to age 18 years, join the MKTYC and gain experience in staging a production from initial concept, through to final curtain. Working alongside industry professionals, young people can take on performing or backstage roles, to gain real insight into life within a theatre company.
Kindly supported by Safesmart, the Young Company will work alongside the MKTYC Director to rehearse a scripted piece, performed at the end of the Spring term as the culmination of the project. Young people are encouraged to take on performance and/or offstage roles, with previous participants taking on lighting and sound design, assistant directing, costume design and stage management – gaining experience and insight into offstage theatre roles.
Safesmart’s ongoing support means part and full bursary supported places are available, aiming to increase participation for those who otherwise may face a financial barrier. If you would like more information on how to apply for a bursary supported place, please email [email protected]
Weekly sessions will take place at Milton Keynes Theatre, 6pm – 8pm on Wednesday evenings:
