Marina's singles ‘What You Deserve’ and most recent release ‘Girl Got You Feeling Good’ have been selected as BBC North East Introducing’s track of the week.
Marina released her debut single ‘Fool Like Me’ in April last year and since then she has made waves across the North East, opening up shows for Alexander O'Neal, Amelia Coburn and performing at Soundwaves Festival alongside the Kaiser Chiefs and Heather Small.
NARC - Stockton-born artist has a strong and luxurious sound with rich and sumptuous tones that fall effortlessly from her lips. Lyrics are reminiscent of artists like Norah Jones and Nadine Shah.
Amelia Coburn - I met Marina Josephina when she opened my headline Teesside show last year, and she is an incredibly talented artist. Her voice is like velvet and I love the way she tells the stories behind her songs at her live shows. I'd definitely recommend her music to any fellow jazz lovers!
Northern Music Collective - Catch the soulful sound that Marina is known for. Attendees will likely be treated to her good sense of humour and delightful stories detailing the meanings behind her songs giving you an intimate live experience by the end of which you'll feel like you've been lifelong friends with Marina and everyone else in the room.
T T Teesside Music Blog - Marina Josephina brought a whole new vibe today. With a band backing her, she served up a delightful mix of her classic chilled piano vibes and some upbeat pop goodness. The music was so funky, you couldn't help but want to boogie along. Marina's charisma shone through, whether she is tickling the ivories solo or jamming with her band she lights up whatever stage she's on.
Opening the night is the wonderful Eve Conway. In May 2019 Eve performed live on the BBC Introducing stage at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend. Eve has also appeared at the likes of Hardwick Live as well as supporting acts Cattle & Cane, Martha Hill and Dan Owen.
