If you loved Pitch Perfect, then this show is ready to bring your love of riff-offs to a whole new level by bringing over 100 voices together as vocal harmony groups from UK universities compete in an exhilarating Semifinal, in the hopes of becoming World Champions at the Grand Finals in New York.
The US may have birthed the modern a cappella scene, but the UK is ready to take the crown this year as musical skill, showmanship, and creativity overflow from all corners of the UK... but is the UK Champion going to be from Edinburgh? Newcastle? Nottingham? Sussex? London? Exeter? Or somewhere else?
The Varsity Vocals ICCA is a premiere tournament dedicated to showcasing the art of student a cappella singing and providing top-notch a cappella groups with valuable feedback from our highly qualified judges. Our young vocalists have the opportunity to share their talent with an international audience, develop relationships with each other, and cultivate the art of a cappella singing as well as a lifelong love of music.
The groups competing this year are: Northern Lights (Durham University), Tone Up (University of Edinburgh), The Leamingtones (University of Warwick), Aca-Pocalypse (University of Nottingham), Semi-Toned (University of Exeter), Aquapella (University of Bath), The Techtonics (Imperial College London), The Rolling Tones (King's College London), RadioOctave (University of Nottingham), The Decibelles (University of Cardiff).
New Wimbledon Theatre
Standing proudly since 1910, New Wimbledon Theatre has garnered a glittering reputation as a premier theatrical venue in South West London. The Grade II listed building has a beautiful Edwardian auditorium and, with a capacity of over 1,500 (one of the largest in London), the venue hosts touring productions as well as an annual pantomime each Christmas.
