See this year’s panto - Dick Whittington, starring Paul Merton at Richmond Theatre.

Goldilocks and the Three Bears

Goldilocks’ circus is under threat from an evil rival circus owner and, with the help of their madcap circus friends, they’re battling to rescue their Big Top from ruin. Will they succeed? All seems lost, until three brilliant bears join the gang…

For four weeks only, Richmond Theatre will be transformed into a sensational circus, with a show featuring extraordinary special effects and amazing circus tricks as well as all of your favourite moments from a traditional pantomime such as slapstick scenes, boos and hisses, singalongs and much more!

This spectacular show stars TV favourite Matt Baker (Countryfile, The One Show) as Joey the Clown, following his acclaimed performance in the 2019 London Palladium production. He is joined by West End star and impressionist Jessica Martin (Spitting Image, Me and My Girl) as this year’s baddie Countess Von Vinklebottom and award-winning pantomime dame Nigel Ellacott as Betty Barnum.

Hilarious comedian Phil Walker leads the circus as Ringo the Ringmaster with Tamara Morgan (Half a Sixpence) playing the titular role of Goldilocks.

With generous discounts for groups, concessions, and special rates for schools available for selected performances, book your tickets today.

Roll up, roll up to see panto join the circus, and be swept away by a pantomime spectacular that’s just right!

In Conversation with Nigel Ellacott

Following the evening performance on Tuesday 6 December, Nigel Ellacott (Dame Betty Barnum) will be in conversation with Simon Sladen, Chair of the UK Pantomime Association and Senior Curator of Theatre and Performanceat the Victoria and Albert Museum

Nigel is a pantomime legend, having performed in pantomimes since 1974 all across the country -from Nottingham to Newcastle and Llandudno to London. In 2021 he was the recipient of the UK Pantomime Association’s Outstanding Achievement Award.

An authority and ambassador for all things panto, Nigel also designs and creates his own costumes, a selection of which were acquired by the V&A in 2017. Having been exhibited by the museum, these now form part of the museum’s world-renowned National Collection of Performing Arts which also features other costumes and designs for Dames including Danny La Rue, Les Dawson and Stanley Baxter.

For pantomime lovers everywhere this will be a unique opportunity to gain insight into what it’s like to be one of the nation’s greatest pantomime dames and to hear fascinating stories about the theatrical Christmas tradition loved by many.
