Ballet’s greatest love story returns in Birmingham Royal Ballet’s lavish production. This romantic fable of ill-fated passion, powerfully illuminated by Tchaikovsky’s legendary score played live by the Royal Ballet Sinfonia, has bewitched audiences for generations.
Birmingham Royal Ballet revives the production by former Artistic Director of the Company Peter Wright and renowned ballerina, Galina Samsova leading you into the glorious journey of Swan Lake. Filled with exquisite ensembles, lyrical pas de deux and bravura solos, this Swan Lake is atmospheric, romantic and beautiful – an unforgettable experience.
Our Principal dancers playing the role of Odette/Odile are Beatrice Parma, Yijing Zhang, Yu Kurihara and Samara Downs. Joining them as Prince Siegfried are Tzu-Chao Chou, Haoliang Feng, Lachlan Monaghan and Tyrone Singleton.

Vesta Tilley laid the foundation stone of what is now the Sunderland Empire on 29 September 1906 and took to the stage on 1 July 1907 to officially declare the theatre open. Masterminded by two of the contemporary heads of British theatre, Edward Moss and Oswald Stoll, the Sunderland Empire Theatre has undergone many changes since it opened but remains the North East’s premier entertainment venue.
