Panto at Misery –on- Sea has not gone well and tonight, of all nights, a big producer is coming to see the show. Backstage, tensions rise, tempers fray and tantrums rage. The happy, glitzy family image of panto gives way to a far less wholesome world – the dark underbelly of showbiz – a world inhabited by people going nowhere, and they know it.
This dark unsettling comedy is both funny and moving, giving the perfect bitter-sweet taste for Christmas …. But DO NOT bring the children.
Disturbing and affecting …. It manages to contain both laughter and pathos and this is no mean feat …. Very entertaining and only too true to life.- Surrey Advertiser
This intriguing play hosts a couple of broke comics and a miserable old panto dame who has bitterness all over a face that’s well past its sell-by-date... Sad, poignant and bleakly funny- Roger Foss, Steve Allen Show
A great play …. Pacey with real pathos and relish, seething frustrations and emotion … A great show full of insight.- Independent Radio
