Hosted by Vernon Kay, Piano Room Live – a showcase brought to you by SJM Concerts - follows the phenomenal success of BBC Radio 2’s month long series, where pop’s most loved artists perform their best-known tracks alongside legendary covers, accompanied by the renowned BBC Concert Orchestra, at the iconic Maida Vale studios.

BBC Radio 2 Piano Room Live

Piano Room Live will see a stellar line-up of artists including Jamie Cullum, David Gray and Katie Melua headline each night with a host of rising talents as they deliver unforgettable performances.

Award-winning singer, songwriter, jazz musician, and radio broadcaster Jamie Cullum headlines the first of the series on Thursday 12th September. Cullum's musical journey is adorned with accolades from receiving numerous top awards and nominations throughout his career, including an Ivor-Novello, two BRIT nominations, a Grammy nomination, a Golden Globe nomination for Best Original Song and multiple ARIA awards for his Radio 2 show. As well as a popular radio host, Cullum remains one of the UK’s most electrifying live acts.

Multi-Platinum selling and Ivor Novello-winning David Gray takes the helm on Friday 13th September. David Gray became a household name – a position he has since sustained more than 20 years later - with his hugely critical and commercially lauded album White Ladder. Over the next two decades, Gray released a string of acclaimed albums and built a reputation for powerful live performances connecting deeply with audiences across generations.

And lastly, Georgian-British singer-songwriter and musician Katie Melua finishes the 2024 series on Saturday 14th September. Her blend of jazz, folk, and pop influences has garnered her critical acclaim, commercial success, and a dedicated fanbase worldwide with classic hits including “Nine Million Bicycles" and "The Closest Thing To Crazy". Following the critically acclaimed "Acoustic Album No. 8" in 2021, and 2023’s ‘Love & Money’ Melua continues to impress with her captivating voice and heartfelt songwriting.

Vernon Kay said: “Having such a wide variety of performances by so many different artists in Radio 2’s Piano Room is one of the highlights of presenting mid mornings. So I can’t wait to take the series out on the road for the very first time with such an incredible line up and in such a special venue with the BBC Concert Orchestra.

Helen Thomas, Head of BBC Radio 2 says: “Since its launch in 2022, Piano Room Month has delighted audiences – bringing them unique versions of songs from their favourite artists on Radio 2, BBC Sounds and BBC iPlayer. It’s such a joy to now be able to invite our listeners to immerse themselves in the live experience with what I know will be three incredible shows in Manchester.

Don't miss this chance to witness the magic of Piano Room unfold live in Manchester. Stay tuned for further announcements and exciting updates about Piano Room Live. More artists to be announced soon.
