Accolade follows the life of celebrated writer Will Trenting (Ayden Callaghan) on the verge of receiving a much coveted award for his work. A gripping tale of ambition, scandal, and the harsh realities that lie beneath the surface of success. With razor-sharp dialogue, poignant moments, and unexpected twists at every turn, Emlyn Williams’ play remains remarkably relevant nearly 75 years after its debut.
This dark and chilling look at trial-by-media and the price of success examines the fine line between truth and lies, good and evil, and one man’s past, present, and future.
Starring Ayden Callaghan (Hollyoaks, The Bodyguard UK Tour) and Honeysuckle Weeks (Foyle’s War, Calendar Girls the Musical UK Tour), casting also includes (in alphabetical order) Alasdair Buchan (The Da Vinci Code, An Inspector Calls), Kayleigh Cooper (A Christmas Carol, Wonka), Sara Crowe (Fallen Angels, The Constant Wife), Gavin Fowler (Merchant of Venice 1936, A Picture of Dorian Gray), Jamie Hogarth (Dom – The Play, MAMMA MIA!), David Phelan (Mission Impossible, Breakfast at Tiffany’s), Narinder Samra (Passenger, Happy Birthday Sunita), and Sarah Twomey (Paddington in Peru, The Sandman).
Directed by Sean Mathias – previous productions include Frank and Percy, The Cherry Orchard, Alone Together and the recent filmed adaptation of Hamlet starring Ian McKellen.

One of the oldest surviving theatres designed by iconic architect Frank Matcham, Richmond Theatre has sat in the heart of the local community since 1899.
