Complimentary Comedy - Events Research Programme Events
These events are part of the Government’s Events Research Programme. Information on the Events Research Programme study can be found here.
The Government’s science-led Events Research Programme (ERP) is gathering important evidence from pilots across various settings that will inform how crowds can return to live events as safely as possible from step 4 of the roadmap. The findings will help shape policy and guidance for live events if public health conditions change in the future.
This event will trial the use of testing and the NHS App Covid Pass to determine a person’s Covid-status.
We are offering 1200 free tickets per event to key workers through Health Service Discounts. To help us reach as many key workers as possible, you will be limited to two tickets per key worker and may only attend one event.
Event Safety Measures
Upon entering the venue, you will be required to adhere to the test event measures which may differ from the Government Guidance at the time of the event. Please continue to adhere to Government Guidance until you enter the building.
We strongly recommend that all visitors wear a face covering whilst in our venues. When seated in the auditorium you may remove your face covering to enjoy food and drinks. Our theatre staff will be wearing face coverings.
In addition to the NHS COVID Pass, we recommend you continue to use the NHS COVID app for contact tracing whilst in the venue.
Requirements for Entry
Upon arrival all members of your party must comply the following to gain entry to the venue.
Provide proof of COVID status upon entry in the form of:
- Full vaccination (first and second dose), and with the second dose administered at least 14 days before your visit, demonstrated via your NHS COVID Pass on the NHS App;
- A negative lateral flow test taken within 48 hours of your visit (for those aged 11 and over) , demonstrated via your NHS COVID Pass on the NHS App;
- If you are resident in England, proof of natural immunity (positive PCR test within the last six months, after self-isolation has ended and up to 180 days after taking the test), demonstrated via your NHS COVID Pass on the NHS App;
Your eTicket must be presented on a smart device or printed on to clean, A4 paper. Each eTicket will display the name of the ticket holder and is non-transferable.
NHS COVID Pass
The NHS COVID Pass is available if you are registered with a GP in England and:
- have had a full course of the COVID-19 vaccine (a full course is currently 2 doses of anyof the Moderna, AstraZeneca and Pfizer vaccine, or one dose of the Janssen single-dose vaccine)
- have had your second dose of the vaccine at least 2 weeks ago
- were vaccinated in England
- are aged 16 or over
- and/or have logged your negative Lateral Flow Test results in the public reporting system
How to obtain the NHS COVID Pass
1. By downloading and registering for the NHS App (free to download from App stores)
2. Via the NHS website here.
3. By requesting an NHS COVID Pass letter to be posted to you via the NHS website or 119.
1. By downloading and registering for the NHS App
If you live in England, you can demonstrate your COVID-19 status via the NHS COVID Pass within the NHS App if you meet the vaccination criteria listed above or have logged a negative lateral flow test result in the last 48 hours here.
The NHS App is free but you do need to be registered with a GP in England to use the NHS App. You can access the NHS App on a mobile device such as a smartphone or tablet.
If you are using your vaccination status to demonstrate your COVID-19 status, you can access your NHS COVID Pass whether or not you have verified your identity on the app. If you have not verified your identity, you will still be able to get your NHS COVID Pass (the screen that enables you to access your event) but will not be able to see a separate screen with your vaccination data (this screen is not needed to access your event). If you have registered and verified your identity you will be able to see both your NHS COVID Pass and your vaccination data.
If you are using your negative lateral flow test result to demonstrate your COVID-19 status, you can only access your NHS COVID Pass (the screen that enables you to access your event) if you have registered and verified your identity on the app. You should also log your lateral flow test results using the public reporting system here. It can take up to two hours for your results to appear within the App.
Please keep in mind you will need to download and register for the NHS App, and check your status BEFORE travelling to your event.
If you are looking to use a negative Lateral Flow Test result to access your NHS COVID Pass, you will need to have verified your identity in the App in addition to having registered for the app. The verification process may take up to seven days, although on average this is completed in a much quicker time frame.
How to use the NHS COVID Pass on your smartphone or tablet
Download the free NHS App using the Google or Apple App store. Please note you will not be charged for downloading the ‘NHS App’. Please note the ‘NHS App’ is different to the ‘NHS COVID-19’ App used to check into venues.
Once you have downloaded and registered for the NHS App, select the “Get your NHS COVID Pass” on the homepage. Then select "Event trials”.
From there you will be able to see your COVID-19 status. If you have a valid COVID-19 status for the event you will see a screen which displays a 2D barcode and a green stripe confirming you have a valid status for entry saying “Valid in England”.
Please ensure that you have checked the expiration date of your NHS COVID Pass before travelling to your event, as your Lateral Flow Test results are only valid for 48 hours.
You can download a PDF copy to your device in advance of the event or email yourself a copy. This PDF version, either on your device or printed, will be accepted for entry.
If you do not see this screen, information will be displayed on how to get an NHS COVID Pass
2. Access the NHS COVID Pass through the NHS website
You can view your COVID-19 status online and download or print it as a PDF document. To access the service, you’ll need to register for an NHS login if you do not have one already. NHS login registrations may take longer than usual when there are high numbers of requests.
Access the NHS COVID Pass via the NHS website.
3. Request an NHS COVID Pass letter to be posted to you
Request a letter only if you:
- have been fully vaccinated by the NHS in England (you should wait 2 weeks after your second dose)
- are aged 16 or over
The letter will be sent to the address registered with your GP. If you have recently moved house, make sure you’ve given your new address to your GP practice before requesting a letter.
Please note that the NHS COVID Pass letter will only show your vaccination status and not the results of a Lateral Flow Test.
The letter may take up to 5 working days to reach you, so ensure you order in good time before attending your event. You can order an NHS COVID Pass letter in two ways:
Request an NHS COVID Pass letter via the NHS website
- You can ask for a letter by filling in a form online.
- Request a COVID Pass letter via the NHS website
Request an NHS COVID Pass letter by calling 119
If you do not have access to a smartphone, computer or tablet you can call 119 and ask for a letter to be posted to you. Lines may be busy so please allow sufficient time to make your telephone call.
If you live in Scotland, you can obtain your vaccination status on this website.
If you live in Wales, you can request your vaccination status by following these instructions. It can take up to ten working days for a certificate to arrive.
At this stage, there is no process for residents of Northern Ireland to evidence their status.
