Grand Opera House York
I've a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore...
Get ready to skip down the Yellow Brick Road with York Stage as they bring The Wizard of Oz to life in a dazzling musical adventure! Join Dorothy, Toto, and her friends—the Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Cowardly Lion—as they journey to the magical Emerald City.
As Dorothy navigates the enchanting landscape of Oz, she is closely watched by Glinda, the Good Witch as the Wicked Witch of the West is plotting to thwart Dorothy's quest and reclaim the magical ruby slippers.
This new production is bursting with vibrant sets, toe-tapping tunes, and a sprinkle of magic that will have you singing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" all the way home. With fun for the whole family, this is a heartwarming tale of friendship, courage, and the belief that there's no place like home.
Grand Opera House York
Not originally intended to be a theatre, the buildings that comprise the Grand Opera House York officially opened in 1902 with Little Red Riding Hood starring Florrie Ford. Since then it has been owned by FJ Butterworth, the Shepherd of Shambles and the India Pru Co. Ltd who spent £4,000,000 restoring the theatre to its former glory in 1987.
